My fine art nature photography pursuit is a "reinvention" for me. My previous creative pursuit was hands-on garden design. Unfortunately, I was forced to abandon my business due to unusual hypersensitivities. Not being one to give up on a passion, I subsequently began sneaking up on plants and other garden elements with my camera to get my ”gardening fix.” My specialty is macro and abstract photography of interesting plants and animals—lifelong subjects of my fascination. I began with printing greeting cards from my images, along with the by-line: “Preserving the ART of the handwritten note.” I was on a mission. My art career took a huge leap forward when I began exhibiting larger works locally at the encouragement of friends and family who were recipients of those greeting cards. Photography has become my way of sharing the intrinsic beauty of the natural surroundings I feel privileged to observe on a daily basis. I strive to capture intimate glimpses of our extraordinary natural world—personal views preserved in print and online. My mission with my photography, and especially my greeting cards, is to add more beauty and grace to the lives of others and to inspire them to pause to look more closely at the wonders in their midst. It is also my hope to encourage my viewers and collectors to appreciate and protect our ever-diminishing natural environment.
